Military Art: from the Great War to Today

Since the dawn of armed conflict, people have endeavoured to portray the raging combat through images. Soldiers, war machines and battle scenes have been immortalized on stone walls, pieces of wood, bits of paper and other materials.

In later centuries, military art became further developed and refined.

The exhibit Military Art: from the Great War to Today tells the story of the Canadian artists who were active during the two world wars and others of the past century.
