The Avro Arrow: The legendary aircraft
In 1949, development of the supersonic Avro Arrow was begun by the AV Roe Company of Canada. It was on the cutting edge of technology. On February 20th, 1959, Prime Minister John Diefenbaker cancelled this ambitious Canadian aviation project. Explore its history at the Museum of Air Defence.
A section of the Avro Arrow exhibit displays unique pieces of the actual aircraft from collector Mr. Marc-André Valiquette.
The two bilingual books published by Mr. Valiquette telling the story of the Avro Arrow are available at the museum gift shop.
